Study financing
In certain cases non-Dutch students can apply for a study grant, loan or contribution towards the payment of their tuition fees. The rules and regulations for these arrangements are quite complicated. You can find the most up-to-date information on the website of the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (formerly IB-Groep).
NOTE: The Dutch government is currently preparing to make changes in the Dutch study financing model. Some of these plans effect all students (in intermediate and higher vocational education, and in university education) while others will only effect students in higher vocational and university education. Please read more about this on the DUO website (information in Dutch only).
You can also work alongside your studies, but bear in mind that earn more than the maximim allowed by law, you might lose your student financing. For detailed information, visit the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs website.
