All residents of the Netherlands are obliged to have health insurance. Be sure that you are covered for medical expenses and get a third-partyliability insurance as well. It is also sensible to insure your belongings so you can be reimbursed if they are damaged or stolen.

Package deal
Some insurance companies offer special student packages that combine a health and liability insurance. These package deals often come a lot cheaper than buying them separately.
