Possibilities at the Campus
Campus Brussels also aims to function as a Maastricht University (UM) establishment in Brussels where individuals can work, meet colleagues, exchange experiences, and organise events.
Alumni
An increasing number of UM Alumni is living and/or working in Brussels. Maastricht University has an active policy to facilitate Alumni to keep in touch with its Alma Mater. Therefore, the Campus actively works towards maintaining and reinforcing the ties built up in the past.
The UM Campus Brussels offers the UM Alumni-community a location where they can meet, work, and exchange experiences with their fellow alumni, current students and visiting staff members. Subsequently, such activities strengthen the visitor’s knowledge –and UM network. Moreover, the Campus gives Alumni the opportunity to improve their personal qualifications by following post-academic UM-courses.
Staff
A large part of UM staff is engaged in European affairs of which a large part is also working and/ or living in Brussels. Therefore, having a Maastricht University Campus in Brussels is able to serve other needs of the university’s staff members. For staff members there are many possibilities at the Campus:
- Flexible workspaces;
- Organize (academic)- events;
- Meet with colleagues and guests to exchange best practices;
- Make use of the UM Campus Brussels network.
If you would like to make use of the flexible workspaces, please send an email to campusbrussels@maastrichtuniversity.nl or call +32 488814534 at least one day in advance in order to check the availability.
Students
Many UM students are studying European and international affairs and are interested in jobs and activities in Brussels. However, for many students, “Brussels” seems to be figuratively “far away”. By offering students the possibility to organize events at the Campus or meet with Alumni who are working in Brussels, the Campus aims to make Brussels more accessible. Thereby, the Campus facilitates in strengthening the link between Maastricht and Brussels.
