Cooperation
Maastricht University (UM) has an international outlook; it has many international students, most of its programmes are taught in English and many UM students study abroad for a period of time.
The university also closely cooperates with leading international universities in various education and research fields, including the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (Germany), Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy), the London Metropolitan University (England), Lund University (Sweden), Universidad de Madrid (Spain), McGill University (Canada), the University of California (United States) and the University of Sydney (Australia).
In recent years, Maastricht University has identified a number of target countries both in Europe (UK, Poland, Turkey, Belgium and Germany) and beyond (including India and China). In the next few years, UM will strengthen its cooperation with universities in these countries.
Partnerships
Maastricht University and Universiteit Hasselt (Belgium) have joined forces in a special partnership: the transnational Universiteit Limburg (tUL).

Groupe Maastricht
Groupe Maastricht is a consortium of Maastricht University, the University of Warwick, Université de Toulouse 1, the University College Dublin, Universität Mannheim, the Central European University in Budapest and Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. These leading European universities jointly take up the challenge of further internationalising higher education through intensive cooperation both at the institutional level and in the fields of education and research.
Network
The Network: Community Partnerships for Health through Innovative Education, Service and Research is an international partnership of educational institutes in the field of health.
EDINEB
EDINEB is an international network focusing on the innovation of economics and business education.
MUNDO
MUNDO is the UM centre for international cooperation in academic development in developing countries.
