Service Science Factory

The Service Science Factory is an initiative of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. It is an academic workshop where scientists and students (e.g. Maastricht University, Hogeschool Zuid and RWTH Achen) and members of industry (e.g. APG, Océ & CBS) can collaborate on new service concepts.

Goal
Prof. dr Jos Lemmink, UM Dean of the School of Business and Economics and one of the initiators of the programme, says that the goal of the Service Science Factory is to make consumer services faster and easier.

What are 'services'?
'Services' is a broad term for many different things, from document services and mobile telephones to pension products and medical logistics. Innovation in services is an entirely new service concept that includes improving the quality of existing services and opening new markets.

The Service Science Factory meets the demand for higher education in the service sector, for example in creating new courses for colleges and universities in the region.
