UM Award 2011

The UM Award is presented to one or more staff members who have shown exceptional merit at the academic, service or managerial levels within Maastricht University or whose work at UM has made an exceptional contribution to society at large. 
 
This award supplements existing UM-wide and faculty-specific awards and prizes. It consists of a bronze statuette of the renowned sculptor Desmaret, a certificate of appreciation and a €500,- dinner voucher.  
        
Nominations  
Please send your reasoned nominations for the UM Award to G. Baltis-Paridaen before 21 November 2011.

Conditions

  • The committee only accepts nominations made by one person.
  • University and faculty board and council members are excluded from nomination, with the exception of staff who have shown outstanding merit in the area of staff representation.

Selection procedure 
An independent committee will select one or more staff members for the award. The committee consists of André Postema (chair), prof. dr Rein de Wilde, Ruud Bollen, Toine Smulders, Rina van den Brandt and Gerda Baltis-Paridaen (secretary). 
 
Award presentation 
The UM award will be presented by André Postema, vice president of the Executive Board, at the New Year’s reception. on 5 January 2012, Mensa, Tongersestraat 53, 16.00-18.00 hours.
