Open Education week
Welcome to the Maastricht University Open Education Week 2014 portal
The Open Education Week is a celebration of the global Open Education Movement. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the movement and its impact on teaching and learning worldwide. Participation in all events and use of all resources are free and open to everyone.
The third annual Open Education Week takes place from 10 to 15 March, with both online and locally hosted events around the world.
If you are new to open education, we suggest that you start with “What is Open Education” or take a look at the event calendar to get an idea about the amount and variety of activities planned for you during this week.
Curious about open education at Maastricht University?
Several faculties are busy preparing open online courses to offer deficiency courses to prospective students. As soon as they are ready for registration, we will announce this on this website. And only recently the UM-MOOC project has started, which focuses on developing a ‘massive open online course’ for all those interested in what Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is. When more about this project is ready ‘for the world’, we will certainly update the website again.
