Elsevier ranking 2007 another triumph for the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics
Unexpectedly, although silently hoped for, SBE was yet again awarded first place in the annual Elsevier survey on Universities and institutions of higher education in the Netherlands. This survey is conducted amongst both peers and students, and the latter have not only given us this top-one position again, but have also given us significantly higher marks than last time.
The programmes evaluated were Economics and International Business.
Elsevier Rankings by students
Economics 2007 ranked 1st 7,8
2006 ranked 1st 7,7
2005 ranked 1st 7,4
2004 ranked 2nd 7,0
2003 ranked 1st 7,1
International Business 2007 ranked 1st 8,0
2006 ranked 1st 7,7
2005 ranked 1st 7,4
2004 ranked 2nd 7,1
2003 ranked 1st 7,3
This means that this is the fourth time in the last five years that both programmes were awarded a top one position. It also clearly shows that International Business is the best evaluated university programme in the Netherlands, due to very high scores for study content and facilities, and an incredible, unprecedented, 9,5 for our international exchange programme.
This excellent result could not have been possible without the help of both staff and students, and the School Board, presided by our Dean Prof. Dr Jos Lemmink, expresses its gratitude to all of you. We are more than ready to take the next steps in the quality positioning of all present and future programmes offered at SBE!
