Universiteit Maastricht

How does it work

SBE participates in competitions varying in size from 8-30 participating universities. Each university sends a team of their best students (usually 4) to compete.

Together with the SBE team you will travel to your destination and stay at the designated Case Competition hotel for the length of the competition. During the competition you will be presented with a business case and then separated from the other teams and your faculty advisor for anywhere between 24 to 60 hours. During that time students:

  • Read the business case (these can be between 2 and 50 pages)
  • Identify the issues
  • Develop a plan to resolve the issues
  • Prepare a presentation to communicate your plan to the "board of directors" - panel of judges

SBE commits to pay for the accommodation, airfare, local transport (taxi etc.) and other related costs during the competition.

In return, students will provide SBE with a weblog and will effectively represent our university as an ambassador.
