Effective cross border care: Next generation

The Euregio II conference “Effective cross-border care: Next Generation” will take place on Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 at the historic Theater La Bonbonnière in the heart of Maastricht.


The conference will examine how the growth of cross-border care in Europe’s border regions intersects with the evolution of the European Union in coming decades. Speakers will focus on three themes (Technology, Inequalities and Politics/Law) at two levels (Regional Development and European Vision to 2050). Renowned Dutch historian and journalist Geert Mak will give the keynote address.


The conference is an initiative of the Euregio II project “Solutions for improving health care cooperation in border regions” which is funded by the European Commission (DG SANCO).

Within the University, European matters are common to many researches and hardly stay within the border of a particular discipline. The purpose of this research seminar is to gather and exchange information, knowledge and expertise, by meeting colleagues and experts from different faculties so as to fill these possible gaps.

Catch That Train

Catch That Train is an international career event that enables students and alumni of Maastricht University to meet potential employers on the European labour market and to get into contact with 'hands-on' experts. The main theme of this event is the future of career starters and young professionals with a university degree and the perspectives for their careers in Europe.

Catch That Coach

‘Catch That Coach!’ is a cross-border career event.

Within the framework of The International Week organized by The City of Maastricht, Maastricht University brings you a cross boarder career event which will partially take place on board of a touring car, travelling from Maastricht to Brussels and partially in the UM Campus in Brussels. The goal is to bring students in contact with different aspects of their European career perspectives, through different companies and organizations.
