Management of Learning
In a competitive business environment, companies need to innovate in order to stay ahead. This means that knowledge is becoming a key business asset. Coupled with this, it is becoming increasingly difficult for organisations to find and retain qualified employees. As a result, the effective use and development of human capital is a strategic decision that companies can no longer ignore. Management of Learning challenges you to think about learning in a (global) business environment and to find effective, potentially far-reaching solutions. It is a multi-disciplinary programme, which combines elements from economics, business, human resource management and learning sciences.
Expert teaching staff
Our expert teaching staff is supported by carefully selected guest lecturers from international companies, such as DSM, Philips and ABN AMRO. In the second semester, you will analyse and propose solutions to a real human resource development (HRD) problem from one of these companies. The opportunity to put your skills into practice and the diversity of your fellow students is excellent preparation for the international environment of a large organisation.
The master's programme in Management of Learning is a 1-year, full-time programme taught entirely in English. Graduates will receive a master's in Management of Learning.
Management of Learning Day
Once a year – usually in April – the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics (SBE) organises a MSc Management of Learning Day, aimed at increasing people's awareness of its MSc Management of Learning master’s programme. Through this event we hope to attract new master students and facilitate the exchange of ideas between current, future, and alumni students. In addition, in the course of this day relations between companies in the field of HRD and the Department of Educational Research and Development at SBE will develop and foster.
