Organisation: Management, Change and Consultancy

Developing your leadership abilities

Managing people is essential to organisational success, and organisations depend on a motivated and committed workforce to remain competitive. Still, the question of how to manage an organisation´s most important asset - its people – poses constant challenges for managers and change agents (e.g. management consultants).

To prepare you for these challenges, this specialisation equips you with solid, evidence-based knowledge on the management of people in organisations. The specialisation combines academic rigor with practical relevance. The four main courses of the specialisation are:

  • Organisational change and consultancy : This course provides you with an academic overview of change management as well as the practical use of consultants in firms. (Coordinator: Dr. Hannes Guenter)
  • Managing Organisational Learning: In this course you learn what it means to produce better results with the people you work with – or ‘learning how to learn’.  (Coordinator: Prof. Hetty van Emmerik)
  • Leadership: This course assesses the academic theory of leadership, invites you to reflect on your own leadership capabilities, and provides an outside perspective on leadership. (Coordinator: Prof. Hetty van Emmerik)
  • Managers@Work: A critical meta-analysis of management practice, with the possibility to set up an e-documentary. (Coordinator: Prof. Wil Foppen)

The specialisation Organisation: Management, Change, and Consultancy is a one-year, full-time programme taught entirely in English. Graduates will earn a master's degree in International Business with a specialisation in Organisation: Management, Change and Consultancy.
