Information Management

Helping organisations compete in a knowledge society

In a knowledge society, information is becoming increasingly important as a business resource. New information and Internet-based technologies are helping to disseminate information ever faster; but this presents challenges to companies who may be unable to keep up with these rapidly changing technologies. Other issues such as safeguarding and managing information can also no longer be overlooked.

The Information Management track is designed to give you a deep understanding of the role of information management and e-business for modern organisations and how these can be used strategically to stay productive and competitive. In a dynamic information and technology environment, it is important that you remain abreast of changes. The syllabus is thus a varied mix of case studies, often taken from the media, and guest lecturers from large corporations. This keeps the track current and gives you plenty of opportunity to put the theory you have learned into practice in real-world situations.

Personal attention
In small classes, in which you receive personal attention from your lecturers, you will learn to participate in business discussions at a senior level and generate solutions that fulfil a company’s information needs. As an information management professional you play a vital bridging role between management and IT teams. As a result, you will also develop your communication and managerial skills.

Information Management is available as a 1-year, full-time programme or a 2-year, part-time programme. Courses are taught entirely in English. Graduates will receive a master's degree in International Business with a specialisation in Information Management.
