You should be passionate about economic and tax issues and the legal implications of these. You will be studying tax laws and regulations as they apply in the Netherlands, so it is important that you plan to work in taxation in the Netherlands after you graduate.
A background in law or economics is desirable but not required.
Do you have an analytical mind and the ability to grasp complex information? Do you want to get to the bottom of the Dutch tax system? Are you able to think creatively and analytically?
