Programme information

Fiscale Economie is a challenging multi-disciplinary track that combines elements from taxation, economics and law. You will study relevant areas such as accountancy, finance, corporate and value-added tax, tax management and European tax law. As this track is taught in both English and Dutch, it is ideal for Dutch students or foreign students with a high level of Dutch who want to specialise and work in the specific tax environment of the Netherlands. The Fiscale Economie track aims to give you the tools to give strategic tax advice to senior managers, as well as to make sound tax decisions based on the knowledge you will gain.

What will you learn?
Fiscale Economie will stretch your intellectual and analytical abilities. You will analyse the economic effects of tax on the market behaviour of producers and consumers, thereby gaining a deep understanding of how tax works. Alongside this, you will explore strategic and creative solutions to tax problems and learn how to communicate these to management teams and tax lawyers.

At the end of the track, you will be able to:

• understand the implications of tax laws on an organisation’s tax strategy
• use quantitative methods as a basis for strategic tax decisions

• give tax advice on a senior level

• play a bridging role between accountants and tax lawyers
