Programme information

The Financial Analysis track brings four disciplines together – monetary economics, finance, econometrics and accounting – in an international environment. This unique approach makes graduates of this track particularly attractive to employers of financial analysts. The Financial Analysis track aims to prepare you for further qualification as a Chartered Financial Analyst. However, the track is also suitable for anyone looking to gain international experience in making investment decisions and solving financial problems.

What will you learn?
Financial Analysis will give you the tools to make better investment decisions, either as a buy-side analyst or a sell-side analyst. You will also be able to recognise, analyse and solve financial economic problems, bearing in mind their macroeconomic implications.

At the end of the track, you will be able to:

• interpret information in financial markets and to report on it to give sound advice to the investment public
• demonstrate an understanding of how financial markets work
• estimate the value of a company’s debt and equity and how this translates to price in financial markets
• develop quantitative investment strategies
• assess how economic events affect financial markets
