Asset Pricing combines economic theory, finance and econometrics. The financial employment market needs specialists who are familiar with all of these things. This is because individuals and businesses now have a huge range of choice as to what financial products they buy. They need advice from asset pricing specialists in order to make those choices. The Asset Pricing track will give you the tools to give the best advice to your future clients.
What will you learn?
You will learn how to make forecasts of financial trends in order to make better investment decisions. You will also be able to recognise, analyse and solve financial economic problems, in relation to the larger regulatory and economic environment in which they exist.
At the end of the track, you will be able to:
• solve complex financial problems in order that investment decisions can be made
• be aware of how financial systems works, and how these translate into the functioning of economies
• provide solutions that use economic, financial and econometric skills to make the best investment decisions
• determine how the price of financial assets is set
