Credit transfer

If you have successfully completed equivalent examinations at an institute of higher education other than SBE before, you may qualify for exemptions. This means you can use the results you obtained elsewhere for your programme at UM. The Board of Examiners will assess whether credit transfer is possible in your case. The content and level of the course or subject for which you are applying for exemption is compared with that of your previous programme. To use this possibility, you must submit a request for exemption to the Board of Examiners. Keep in mind that this means the registration procedure will take more time, so apply early.

Students cannot be exempted from parts of the first-year programme, but only from the entire first-year exam and possibly from parts of the final bachelor's exam. For current SBE bachelor’s students other rules may apply, please check Eleum for the exact regulations.

  • Consequences for your application via Studielink

Please make sure to indicate the correct year when applying via Studielink:

    • Do you only want to start this bachelor’s programme if you are exempted of the entire first year? In that case you can indicate in Studielink that you want to apply for enrolment in the second year of the programme, please note that you will NOT participate in the decentralised selection then
    • Do you want to start the bachelor’s programme even if you do not get any exemptions (or only a few)? In Studielink you will need to apply for enrolment in the first year of this bachelor’s programme. Please submit a complete application for the decentralised selection via My UM so that we can present your file to the Committee. Please note that, if you do not do this, we will not be able to include you in this procedure and starting in the first year will then be impossible!
