About PGE

In 2002, Postgraduate Education (PGE) was established by the School of Business & Economics (SBE) to create a home for all its MBA and Executive programs. Today, PGE has become a highly regarded learning partner for individuals and organizations that seek innovative and personalized solutions for their professional and/or personal development needs.

At PGE we strongly believe that for learning to take place, we need to create a setting in which participants can develop the ability to reflect on their (work) experience and the ability to translate their reflections into action. That is why our programs take place in small group settings. That is why we devote a lot of time to personal development. And that is why we integrate action learning projects in all of our programs.

The small groups allow participants to interact and reflect on academic knowledge in the context of their diverse (work) environments. As they share experiences they create new insights together. To help them apply these insights, personal development plays an important role. We believe that meaningful reflection requires the whole person and not just his or her intellectual ability; it requires an understanding of one’s own behavior and emotions and how these guide actions. However, the learning does not stop there as also actionable knowledge relevant for the individual, the organization or society at large needs to be developed. Action learning projects are used to facilitate this translation.

Why do we do this well? The following highlights a number of important ingredients that underlie the success of our school:

  • the use of innovative learning methodologies which build on one of the core competences of Maastricht University: Problem Based Learning (PBL);
  • consistent delivery of high quality programs as is evidenced by accreditations of AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA;
  • the focus on academic as well as personal development and the translation to the participant’s work context;
  • staff and faculty dedicated to the development of the individual as is shown by the personal attention for each participant before, during and after having participated in our programs.

Developing talent together, the Maastricht way. A ticket to an exciting learning and development journey which starts in the beautiful city of Maastricht but takes you to places you could not have imagined before.
