Application and admission
The application requirements vary for each master's programme. For detailed information, please refer to the information listed under the master's programme of your choice. This is the best way to ensure that you receive the most up-to-date instructions. Some programmes may require specific documents when applying, such as a writing sample or specific letters of recommendation from previous professors or employers.
Once you are accepted into a master's programme, you will have to officially register by filling out a UM registration form and by sending in the invoice for payment of tuition fees. In most cases you will receive an additional information and registration packet by post at your home address. This packet contains information on sports, cultural events, the introduction week (INKOM), etc. The packet also contains a form for your tuition fees payment.
If you live outside the EU you have to pick up your registration packet upon your arrival in Maastricht at the UM Visitors’ Centre (Bonnefantenstraat 2). Please fill out the form in full and return it. Once UM has processed your registration, you will receive a certificate of enrollment and an email indicating that you can pick up your student ID card.
