MSc Thesis Lunch 2010
On 18 May 2010, Master students who are in the “thesis writing”phase gathered together to learn more about tips for their future careers and the UM alumni association. Approximately 60 Master students attended the MSc Thesis Lunch, the first initiative of the SBE alumni office targeted at MSc students in their final stage.
The programme was diverse and included several presentations: Leann Poeth, on behalf of the UM Alumni Association, welcomed the students as future alumni, and spoke enthusiastically about becoming a UM alum and activities that are organized for alumni. Koannie Lauw, UM Career Services, informed students about the various ways in which UM Career Services can assist students in launching their careers. Fine Cotton Company, a student company initiative of the MSC IB Entrepreneurship programme, represented by MSc student René Zimmermann and Sebastian Merget, told about their tailor-made shirts and blouses and offered an attractive discount. Finally, Olga de Hoen, Océ printing services, gave handy tips about printing your MSc thesis and made a special offer on thesis printing for students participating in the lunch.
After the presentations, it was time for an Italian lunch! While enjoying the food, students and companies mingled. Students could get detailed information at the company stands.
The atmosphere was super nice, and we would like to thank all students and companies involved! All in all, the first edition of the Master’s Lunch was a huge success, and look forward to next year’s MSc Thesis Lunch!
We wish all MSc students good luck writing their thesis, and we hope to welcome you soon at one of our UM Alumni Circles in the city where you live and work!
