Problem-Based Learning
Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is an innovative teaching method widely used at Maastricht University. Students work in small tutorial groups, actively seeking practical solutions to scientific and real-world problems. The method also stresses personal responsibility, independent research and self-motivation. You, the student, are responsible for your education and personal development.
Within the Problem-Based Learning system, students have the leading role in their own education. You work independently on your personal learning goals, and your education is tailored to give you the foundational knowledge of your chosen study alongside the versatility to pursue your individual interests. You acquire essential skills such as writing clear papers, setting up and administering psychology tests and carrying out research.
