International experience
The Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience has agreements with a large number of foreign universities to facilitate student exchanges. Within Europe, these include universities in Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and more. Outside Europe, we also have exchange agreements with universities in Australia, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa and the United States.
As birthplace of the European Union, Maastricht symbolises internationalism. It is home to a large number of international scientific and research institutes and is located at an international crossroads between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Student diversity creates an international atmosphere that is strengthened by the pan-European orientation of the curriculum.
About 30% of psychology students at Maastricht University spend part of their programme studying abroad, usually as electives within the programme. Many foreign students also come to study in Maastricht. Some blocks offer tutorial groups in English especially for these exchange students.
