Research master in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience

The research master in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience gives students a solid education in the most important theories, models, techniques, and analytic methods that form the basis for research in neuroscience, psychology and mental illness. In addition to a broad interdisciplinary training, students receive a comprehensive education in one of five specialisations within the programme.

Joint venture for excellent students

The programme is a joint venture of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience and the Faculty of Health, Medicine & Life Sciences. It is designed for excellent students who wish to continue their graduate studies in preparation for a career in research. This two-year, internationally oriented programme is taught entirely in English.

“The programme is of excellent international standing”
Panel of international experts commissioned by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO), 2011.

“The fact that I was accepted to MIT is a testament to the quality of the research master programme (…) and to the outstanding reputation of the faculty.”
Alex Paunov, research master’s graduate, 2011

Limited number of students

In order to preserve the high quality of the programme, no more than 20 to 25 students will be accepted into each specialisation in the programme each year.

The Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience also offers a one-year master’s programme in Psychology and a two-year master’s programme in Forensic Psychology.
