I had a wonderful time in Maastricht. The events held at the beginning by Luna-tik were a great way to get to know people! It is a separate organisation but it is very interconnected, the school population is small and those students in Luna-tik are the students who will be most likely to welcome the international students. Get involved in everything! That is my advice to the incoming international students. It may seem hectic at first getting settled in and not really knowing where to go or what to do, but don't waste any time. There are so many things to do, and one major thing to do: meet people! There are tons of places to go and things to see but what makes any trip is who you are with. So get out there, make some friends THEN make some plans.

Other tips: always lock your room once, your laptop once and your bike twice, recycle your bottles, buy cheap umbrellas (they all bend in the wind even expensive ones, face it you're going to get wet!), eat out at the many different ethnic restaurants (they are ALL good), Shamrock is THE best bar, always take ID to the coffee shop, don't try to use your phone while riding your bike (its not easier than driving).
