Computer access
The Computer Resource Centre Randwyck, a joint initiative of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience, and the University Library, opened in January 2007.
Facilities, opening hours and house rules
The computer resource centre with its 260 computer workplaces is located in the centre section of Universiteitssingel 50, adjacent to the bamboo garden; it has 5 separate rooms suitable for instruction, and 5 smaller rooms for laptop users. Spread across the resource centre, there are 4 Océ printers, featuring Follow-Me Printing, and – in a separate room – 4 flatbed scanners.
The computer resource centre will be open from Monday to Thursday from 8.00 to 18.30 hours and Friday until 18:00. At times when no instruction is being given in the centre, computers can be used freely. Outside these hours, use can be made of the other study facilities in the University Library. There are 200 lockers available to store coats and bags. Eating or drinking is not allowed in the computer resource centre.
Students and staff who have questions, may consult the available support desk. To streamline the room scheduling process, a reservation system was set up that allows lecturers to reserve rooms.
