Welcome to Faculty of Law Research!
Maastricht University’s Faculty of Law offers top class academic researchers an internationally oriented environment within a set of focused research themes, while various talent programmes and other incentives provide highly ambitious (future) researchers stimulating career opportunities. The Faculty actively promotes a healthy rejuvenation policy, which has resulted in a very high relative number of PhD candidates.
The Faculty of Law performs well, illustrated by the 2010 research review by the National Evaluation Committee for Dutch Law Faculties. High scores were awarded not only for quality but also for productivity.According to the Evaluation Committee, the faculty’s decision to conduct all its research within the two interuniversity research schools, Ius Commune Research School and the School of Human Rights Research, was a valuable one. Despite its relatively small size, the Faculty plays an active and leading role in these research schools. This goes especially for the international Ius Commune Research School, which has originally been initiated and is still successfully being managed by Maastricht Faculty of Law.
