Admission criteria: The Student Parliament is open to students at Bachelor’s and Master’s level with knowledge of and interest in Dutch constitutional law and politics.
Procedure: Student teams are delegated from every law faculty in the Netherlands, and form political party groups in Parliament with a randomly assigned political colour. They go on to participate in the written and oral stages of a legislative procedure in the Lower Chamber of the Dutch Parliament in The Hague. The Government is represented by law professors; the jury consists of one scholar, one politician and one political journalist.
History: The Student Parliament is held once every two years. Maastricht won this competition in the round of 2005.

VAR (Dutch Administrative Law Association)
Subject-area: Dutch administrative law
Language: Dutch
Admission criteria: The VAR moot court is open to students at Bachelor’s and Master’s level with knowledge of and interest in Dutch administrative law.
Procedure: Student teams submit written memorials and orally defend their case as applicant and defendant in a fictitious administrative law dispute.
History: Maastricht finished third in the round of 2004-2005.
Admission: Selection before December.

NVER (Dutch European Law Society)
Discipline: European Law

Admission requirements: The NEVER moot court competition is open to all bachelor’s and master’s students with an understanding and appreciation of European law. Of particular importance: ‘Internationaal’ and ‘Europees Recht’ (for Dutch Law students and ELS-Dutch track students); ‘International and European Law’ (for ELS-English track students); ‘EU Law: Foundations’ and ‘EU Law: Substantive Law’ (for ELS students).
Procedure: Student teams must submit written statements and advocate as plaintiff and defendant in a fictitious European law case.
History: Maastricht placed second in 2010.
Admission: Selection will begin in September.
