The story of: Cees van der Vleuten has been trained as a personality psychologist and psychometrician and has a PhD in Educational Sciences from Maastricht University (1989). Since 1982 he has been appointed at Maastricht University as an Assistant, Associate and Full Professor (1996) and chair of the department (www.educ.unimaas.nl). In 2005 he was appointed as the Scientific Director of the School of Health Professions Education.
His area of expertise lies in evaluation and assessment. He has published widely on these topics, holds several academic awards for this work including several career awards. He has frequently served as a consultant internationally. He has been a supervisor of more than 40 PhD students.
