Work and Health

The workplace is a major determining factor of health and illness. About 50% of employees who are ill suffer from some kind of work-related illness. Whether work will turn out to benefit one’s well-being depends on a complex mix of physical, psychological and social determinants. The specialisation in Work and Health within the master’s programme in Public Health provides students with the essential scientific knowledge, insight and skills needed to prevent health related problems in organisations, to promote reintegration into the workforce, and to improve individual health and well-being at the workplace.

Research is an integral part of the specialisation in Work and Health. The programme is linked to the research goals of the School for Public Health and Primary Care (CAPHRI).

The specialisation in Work and Health is taught entirely in English. Students can either complete the curriculum as a one-year, full-time programme or as a two-year, part-time programme. Graduates will receive a Master of Science degree in Public Health, with a specialisation in Work and Health.
