Programme information

The master of Sports and Physical Activity Interventions examines the social-psychological, environmental, genetic and metabolic determinants of sports, physical activity and health. You learn to evaluate the effectiveness of existing exercise and sports activities and systematically design, implement and disseminate intervention programmes.

The first half of the programme consists of five units.

  • determinants of exercise and physical activity behaviour
  • biological aspects of physical activity and health
  • intervention mapping
  • reviews (critical reading and writing)
  • evaluating and designing research of physical activity interventions

During the second half of the programme, students will research and complete a master’s thesis under the close supervision of the academic staff.

Lectures and group tutorials
The lectures and group tutorials for the full-time programme will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays. The lectures and group tutorials for the part-time programme will be held on Fridays.
