Admissions
Applicants to the Research Master in Health Sciences must have one of the following:
- a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at Maastricht University
- a bachelor’s degree (with a high qualification according to a list of grades) or a master's degree (with distinction) issued by a Dutch or non-Dutch university in a relevant domain
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- a level of biomedical sciences knowledge equivalent to the bachelor’s programme in Health Sciences offered by the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences at Maastricht University
- knowledge of research statistics (students with insufficient knowledge of research methods can take courses from Maastricht University to fulfill this requirement)
- non-EU students: good written and spoken English, demonstrated with at least a 6.5 score on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test or at least a 90 internet or 232 computer or 575 paper score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (native English speakers and those who received all post-primary education in English may apply for an exemption)
Selection
Selection will be based on the following criteria:
- a completed application procedure
- letter of motivation
- curriculum vitae
- a certified English transcript of university courses followed and marks received (grade 7 or higher on average)
- a written essay on a subject specified by the selection committee following the receipt of application
- oral interview with the selection committee

- copy of your IELTS/TOEFL results (if applicable)
