Methodology and Statistics course
The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences offers a Methodology, Techniques and Statistics (Mt&S) course to prepare candidate students for their admissions exam. The Mt&S course aims to rectify any deficiencies in research methodology, techniques and statistics to bring students up to the standard of the FHML's bachelor's programme in Health Sciences.
The course consists of two components:
- Statistics
- Epidemiological Methodology
Both components are offered as a distance-based course via an electronic learning environment. You only need to come to Maastricht University for the opening lecture and three response lectures. The language of instruction for the Statistics component is either Dutch (course 1) or English (course 2). The language of instruction for the Epidemiological Methodology component for both courses is English.
Please note that the MtS course is not obligatory in order to participate in the Methodology and Statistics examination. You can also prepare for the final exam by means of self-study. However, it is advised to follow the MtS course since the subject matter covered in the exam is the same as that for the three-year Health Sciences bachelor’s programme.
