Metabolism and Nutrition
Health is a function of both genetics and environment. Of all the environmental determinants of health, nutrition is by far the most important. The Master of Science in Physical Activity and Health with a specialisation in Metabolism and Nutrition (E-MeNu) is a European programme which gives students a thorough background in the field of nutrition. The programme covers relevant European policies, legislation, regulations and teaches students communication skills.
The specialisation was designed to contribute to a mobile, international pool of Metabolism and Nutrition professionals. The programme is linked to the research goals of the following institutes:
- The NUTRIM School for Nutrition, Toxicology & Metabolism
- Care and Public Health Institute (CAPHRI)
- Cardiovascular Research Institute Maastricht (CARIM)
- Mental Health and Neuroscience (MHeNs)
The programme is taught entirely in English. Students can complete the curriculum over the course of one year or as an extended, two-year option. Graduates will receive a Master of Science in Physical Activity and Health with a specialisation in Metabolism and Nutrition. Those completing the two-year option can receive an official certificate from Maastricht University and from the university where they complete their second year.
