International experience
The Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences collaborates with a number of foreign universities to conduct student exchanges, receive visiting lecturers and collaborate on research. Through this international network of universities and the Mental Health programme’s emphasis on internationalism, you will be prepared to participate in an increasingly integrated European system of healthcare.
More than one-third of the student population of Maastricht University is from outside the Netherlands and over 700 exchange students come to study every year. As birthplace of the European Union, Maastricht embodies internationalism. It is home to more than 120 international scientific and research institutes and is located at an international crossroads between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
The language of instruction for Mental Health is Dutch. Moreover, the clinical internship takes place in Dutch Mental healthcare institutions. Therefore knowledge of the Dutch language is required.
