International experience

Via the international networks of universities and the exchange programmes of the Health Education and Promotion master and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, students have many opportunities to increase their international experience. The programme is designed to contribute to the academic and professional mobility of its graduates.

As birthplace of the European Union, Maastricht symbolises internationalism. It is home to more than 120 international scientific and research institutes and is located at an international crossroads between the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Roughly 30 % of the students in the Public Health master’s programme come from outside the Netherlands. Such diversity creates an international atmosphere that is strengthened by the pan-European orientation of the curriculum.

The language of instruction for the programme is English, the most widely used international language. For students who are non-native English speakers, the programme’s English curriculum will strengthen your command of the language and prepare you for a career in an international environment.

Internships

Students following the master of Health Education and Promotion have the opportunity to study abroad in a work placement exchange programme within the partner university network. Locations include Switzerland, Australia, the UK, Canada, South Africa and Denmark.
