Programme information

The master of Health Education and Promotion provides students with the education and skills to:

    • analyse positive or negative effects of behavioural and environmental factors on our quality of life
    • formulate specific, testable objectives for intervention
    • design effective, scientific health intervention plans
    • formulate plans for the diffusion and implementation of these interventions
    • test, evaluate and refine those interventions

The first part of the programme consists of six units:

    • Cancer prevention
    • Best practices in health education and promotion
    • Intervention mapping
    • Worksite health promotion
    • Prevention of mental health problems
    • Organisational change and transformation

During the second part of the programme, students will research and complete a master’s thesis under the close supervision of the academic staff. The curriculum also includes a range of mandatory special lectures (Capita Selecta) and a mandatory training in ‘Factor analysis and analysis of multi-level data’.
