Programme information
The master of Health Education and Promotion provides students with the education and skills to:
- analyse positive or negative effects of behavioural and environmental factors on our quality of life
- formulate specific, testable objectives for intervention
- design effective, scientific health intervention plans
- formulate plans for the diffusion and implementation of these interventions
- test, evaluate and refine those interventions
The first part of the programme consists of six units:
- Cancer prevention
- Best practices in health education and promotion
- Intervention mapping
- Worksite health promotion
- Prevention of mental health problems
- Organisational change and transformation
During the second part of the programme, students will research and complete a master’s thesis under the close supervision of the academic staff. The curriculum also includes a range of mandatory special lectures (Capita Selecta) and a mandatory training in ‘Factor analysis and analysis of multi-level data’.
