Blended Learning: E-learning for part-time students

Combination of studying in Maastricht and at home
Experience has taught that it’s often far from easy to combine a job with part-time studies. This could be made much simpler if students were able to take part in degree programmes at times more convenient to them, for example, when it comes to studying in small groups, attending lectures, and working on projects and papers. In all cases, these activities can also take place via the internet at places other than the university. Similar to studying from the UM Learning and Resource Centre, you would then be working in a virtual environment. One in which you can also be in touch with other students and your supervisor. In practice, this would mean students would still have to make regular, though far less frequent visits to Maastricht University.

A blended-learning programme is fully equivalent to a normal degree programme, but offers flexible programming tailored to the student’s time schedule. Since it is derived from an already existing programme, it has:

  • equal learning objectives
  • equal programme content
  • equal obligations
  • equal exams
  • equal diplomas
