Medicine

The world around us never stops changing. New medical problems arise as scientific developments continue their fast march ahead both nationally and globally. If you opt for Maastricht University’s bachelor's programme in Medicine, you embark on a programme oriented towards the future.

As from the academic year 2011-2012, Medicine has started a new bachelor curriculum resulting in competent doctors in a dynamic and globalising world. The curriculum change will be introduced gradually: starting in year 1 in 2011-2012, and year 2 in 2012-2013, ending with year 3 in 2013-2014.




Tomorrow’s doctors
In Maastricht, the knowledge and skills of tomorrow’s doctors are taking shape today. Tomorrow’s doctors are able to manage any medical problem. Their education has prepared them to be full-fledged problem solvers who can rely on a broad knowledge base and the ability to gain access to new knowledge.

Programme structure
The programme structure is varied and internationally oriented. From the beginning, you are confronted with aspects of real medical practice. In this way you will be prepared to work in an international environment. If you want to be one of tomorrow’s doctor’s, the Medicine programme at Maastricht University may be the right choice for you.   

The bachelor’s in Medicine is a three-year programme taught in Dutch.
