Political Science
The department of Political Science provides the input of political science and public administration in the teaching and research of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Our staff has a background in political science, public administration, international relations, sociology and philosophy. Our field of study is the theory and practice of political and administrative processes at both national and international levels, with a specific interest for European politics.
Teaching
The staff of the department of Political Science contributes to the Bachelor programs of European Studies and Arts and Culture, and also to the Master programs European Studies, Analysing Europe, European Public Affairs in cooperation with the European Institute for Public Administration) and the Master of Science in Public Policy and Human Development (in cooperation with the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance).
Research
The department of Political Science is a member of the research school Netherlands Institute of Government and of the scholarly association European Consortium of Political Research. Within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences our staff participates in the research programme politics and Culture in Europe.
