Curriculum vitae
Since 2000 Luc. F.M. Verhey is Professor of Constitutional and Administrative Law at Maastricht University and Coordinator of the research programme ‘Ius Commune en Public Law’ of the Research School Ius Commune. Luc Verhey studied law at the University of Leiden (LL.M. 1985). He was assistant professor at the Erasmus University of Rotterdam from January 1986 to April 1989 and at the University of Utrecht from April 1989 to April 1993. In September 1992 he finished his PhD-thesis on Drittwirkung of fundamental rights, especially of the right to privacy. He worked at the Ministry of Justice, the Hague, as a senior legal adviser from April 1993 to March 2000. In recent years, Luc Verhey has published on issues of public accountability, democracy, legislation and human rights.
