Curriculum vitae - Nederlandse versie
Prof.mr. C.A. Schwarz (1954) studeerde notarieel recht aan de Rijksuniversiteit te Leiden (1978), en Nederlands recht aan de Vrije Universiteit te Amsterdam (1984). Hij promoveerde op het proefschrift 'Blokkering van aandelen' te Leiden (1986). Hij werkte als onderzoeker op het terrein van de vrijwillige organisaties aan de VU te Amsterdam en is sinds 1987, als hoogleraar Handels- en ondernemingsrecht, verbonden aan de juridische faculteit van de Universiteit Maastricht (UM).
Hij publiceert op diverse terreinen, maar met name op het gebied van het rechtspersonen- en ondernemingsrecht.
Daarnaast is hij werkzaam als zelfstandig gevestigd juridisch adviseur.
Hij is sinds 1993 actief als NAI-arbiter en als ICC-arbitrator en is sinds 2000 tevens actief als mediator.
Hij is voorzitter van het bestuur van de internationale onderzoekschool Ius Commune (Maastricht, Leuven, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Stellenbosch) en coördinerend onderzoeksleider van het deelproject The European Company in deze school.

Prof.dr.C.A. Schwarz (1954) studied notarial law at the University of Leiden (1978), and civil law at the Free University of Amsterdam (1984).
After his studies, he worked as an advisor for a law firm in Rotterdam, and also as a researcher in the field of the voluntary organizations at the Free University of Amsterdam.
In this period he also wrote his dissertation, titled "Blokkering van aandelen" (The limited transferability of shares). He defended this dissertation at the University of Leiden in 1986.
In 1987 he was appointed as a professor of commercial- and tradelaw at the University of Maastricht and was elected as Dean of the Faculty in 1994.
He publishes in various fields and works as an advisor for several law-firms and (stock-quoted) companies.
Since 1993 he is a listed arbitrator with the Dutch Arbitration Institute (NAI) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) since 2003, and since 2000 also involved in mediations, working in the field of company- and tradelaw and contract law.
He is arbitrator at the Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot in Vienna (ICC).
He teaches European Corporate Law in the Postgraduate International Program Chartered Controller (University of Amsterdam/Maastricht University) and Ondernemingsrecht in the postgraduate 'Controllersopleiding'.
He is a member of the editorial board of:
