Curriculum vitae
Miroslava (Mira) Scholten (4 July 1983) comes from Russia. She studied International Relations (MSc) at the North-West Academy of Public Administration in Saint-Petersburg (2000-2005) and at the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam School of International Relations (2005-2006) and graduated with distinction. She participated in the ‘EU studies’ programme organised by the Aarhus Business School (September - December 2003). Also she studied International and European law (LLM) at the University of Amsterdam, Faculty of Law (2007-2008).
As for her professional development, she worked at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Russia (7 months) and had a number of internships: at the City Administration of Saint-Petersburg (6 months), at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg (3 months) and at the Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ in The Hague (4 months).
Since September 2008 she is a PhD candidate at the Maastricht University, Faculty of Law and also is affiliated with the Montesquieu Institute. The topic of her research is the relationship between parliaments and independent agencies. Her promoters are Prof. L.F.M. Verhey and Dr. Ph. Kiiver.
