Curriculum vitae
Jac Rinkes graduated in 1985 from the Katholieke Hogeschool Tilburg. While working as a lecturer at Maastricht University, he obtained his doctorate degree in 1992. From 1993-2001 he was associate professor for Consumer Law at Maastricht University. He is presently Professor of Private Law at the Open Universiteit Nederland, (part-time) judge at the Gerechtshof Arnhem, and associated with the Legal Research Department of Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam. He is editor of the Dutch Tijdschrift voor Consumentenrecht and co-editor of the Jaarboeken Consumentenrecht.

(Belangrijkste) publikaties en gegeven onderwijs
He has published widely on his specialist topic (European) consumer law, as well as Private law in general. He published (i.a.) on product liability law, unfair contract terms, insurance and consumer credit law. His main publications together with Geoffrey Samuel (Kent Law School) are Contractual and non-contractual obligations in English law (1992) and Law of obligations and legal remedies (1996). He has taught (i.a.) trade law, e-commerce law, consumer law, company law and private law.
