Curriculum vitae
Carol Ní Ghiollarnáth graduated with a Bachelor of Corporate Law from the National University of Galway, Ireland in 2003 and in 2004 achieved the LL.M title from Maastricht University having completed the Magister Iuris Communis Programme specialising in International and European Tax Law. In 2004-2005 Carol worked in the International and European Law Department in Maastricht University as a researcher on the European Commission’s Sixth Framework Project ‘Safe Foods’ under the supervision of Prof.dr. Ellen Vos. In September 2005, Carol joined the UM Tax Law Department as a Junior Researcher. Carol’s PhD thesis working title is: ‘Energy Efficiency, Tax and Trade: Irreconcilably Incompatible?’. The thesis deals with the compliance of tax incentives for the development of renewable energy sources with international trade law rules on subsidies.
