Curriculum Vitae
Wen-Cheng Huang graduated in law at National Taipei University, Taipei in 2002. He completed a Research Master in Private Law at National Taipei University with distinction in 2006. In 2008 Wen-Cheng obtained an LL.M. in European Law at Maastricht University (UM). In October 2011, he further obtained an LL.M. in International Economic Law at UM. Currently, he just starts his PhD research focusing on how the EU Court cope with cases involved scientific uncertainties and complexities under Prof. Dr. Ellen Vos’s supervision at Maastricht University since November 2011.
Wen-Cheng started his career as an assistant of the inspector at the Ministry of Defences in Taiwan, where he was in charge of the protection of human rights as well as the inspection of the financial reports, from 2006 to 2007.
From 2009 to 2010, he was appointed as a legal associate at the Office of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan, where he was involved in the preparation of the DS 377 (the first WTO case for Taiwan as the plaintiff), the Generalized Preferential Tariffs between Canada and Taiwan, as well as in the continuing negotiations of the SPS chapter of the Taiwan-Singapore free trade area.
Wen-Cheng is mainly interested in European law, WTO law and Corporate Law. He published his first master thesis, entitled “Reforming the Limited Liability of Multinational Corporations”, around 100,000 words in Chinese in 2006. Subsequently, he completed his second master thesis, entitled “Board Competition under the Regulation of SE (European Company)”, around 15,000 words in English in 2008 at Maastricht University. Recently, He has just completed his third master thesis, entitled “The Resort to Scientific Experts by the EU Courts: Problems and Solutions” in September 2011.
