Curriculum Vitae
Kathrin Hamenstädt is a doctoral researcher at the Law Faculty of Maastricht University. She studied law at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Universiteit Maastricht. She was a legal trainee at the Regional Court in Berlin, the Office of the Public Prosecutor in Berlin, the Federal Foreign Office, a law firm and the Federal Ministry of the Interior. She worked in the division European Law at the German Parliament’s Scientific Service and for a law firm specialized in migration law.
Kathrin Hamenstädt’s principal area of interest is European migration law. Her PhD focuses on the Europeanization of domestic expulsion decision against third country nationals. Moreover, she is interested human rights law, European law and (comparative) constitutional law.
Kathrin Hamenstädt is a member of the Maastricht Centre for European law, the Ius Commune Research School, “Deutscher Juristinnenbund” and “Netzwerk Migrationsrecht”.
Kathrin Hamenstädt teaches at the University of Maastricht.
