Curriculum vitae
Tanja Ehnert is a Doctoral Researcher at the International and European Law Department of Maastricht University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in European Studies (BA) and obtained an LL.M. (cum laude) in European Law from Maastricht University in January 2009. During her studies, Tanja spent one semester at the University of British Columbia, Canada, and one semester at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She was a trainee at the European Commission, DG Environment, in 2009 and worked as a paralegal in the international law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP (2009-2010).
Tanja’s Ph.D. research focuses on the development of a theoretical framework for accountability mechanisms in the risk governance of nanotechnologies under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ellen Vos. In particular, she will examine the applicability of the new modes of governance, with a focus on self-regulation and co-regulation, to the regulation of risks.
Tanja is a scholar of the Maastricht Center of European Law and a member of the Ius Commune Research School.
Tanja teaches EU institutional law at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and is a coach for Legal Writing at the Law Faculty of Maastricht University.
